(Massimo Marone – “The Bold and the Beautiful”)

Joseph Mascolo stared as powerful businessman Massimo Marone, on the CBS daytime drama “The Bold and the Beautiful” from 2001-2006.

He had just left “Days of Our Lives” where he played the evil villain Stefano DiMera for nearly twenty years and was looking forward to taking a break and getting back to his theatrical roots. But his plans soon changed when he a got a call from Brad Bell, executive producer of “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

“I have tremendous respect for Brad and the Bell family, so when Brad said that he wanted to create a character on the show for me I was intrigued,” recalls Mascolo, “and his vision for the character was extremely appealing.” After several conversations, the character of Massimo Marone was created and a storyline that literally rocked the core of the 15-year history of the show.

Soon after his arrival, it was discovered that Massimo was Ridge Forrester’s real father, the result of a brief affair with Stephanie Forrester, whom he had been attracted to for many years. As if that wasn’t enough of shock to the family, it was also revealed some time later that Massimo had another long-lost son, Dominick Payne-Marone, the son of Jacqueline Payne, and the show now featured two powerful families, the Forresters and the Marones.

After shaking things up with families for five years, the character of Massimo Marone said goodbye and left on a business trip. Will he return one day? Only time will tell.
